Laser Systems for Jewelry

Jewelry Welding, Jewelry Engraving & Jewelry Cutting

Today’s manufacturing and retail jewelers have a wide range of new technologies available to enhance their ability to provide the highest level of quality, craftsmanship and service to their clients. One of the fastest growing technologies is the use of laser systems for jewelry as an alternative to traditional methods of welding, engraving and cutting of metals. Laser technology takes jewelry artistry and craftsmanship to the next level and LaserStar has been working with the jewelry industry since 1957, giving us 60 years of experience.

LaserStar offers systems and solutions for a wide range of laser applications in the jewelry, watch and optical repair markets with a family of products for laser welding, engraving and cutting that are specifically designed for jewelry production and repair.

Laser Welding Jewelry

Laser welding allows precious metals and many other alloys to be joined together without the use of solder or torches. Laser welds are strong even in areas which are difficult to access with traditional joining technologies. In general if you can see the joint – it can be laser welded. Laser welders have become a must-have tool for jewelers doing jewelry repairs as well as helping with jewelry designs that would not have been easily produced prior to this technology.

Laser Engraving Jewelry

Laser marking and/or laser engraving is an alternative to traditional engraving methods such as: mechanical engraving, pad printing, stamping and chemical etching. Laser engraving systems are computer-controlled, environmentally friendly and offer the benefits of non-contact abrasion-resistant permanent engravings onto almost any type of material including precious metals. Higher powered laser engraving systems are also able to cut thin metals for creating monogram and name necklaces as well as other intricate design cutouts.

Laser Cutting Jewelry

Laser cutting of precious metals allow jewelry manufacturers to produce complex components at the highest precision in both large and small batches for production saving time and money in the process. The laser system cuts virtually all commonly used metal alloys including precious metals with excellent cutting quality in fine and filigree designs.

We got our LaserStar Laser Welding Machine in August, and we love it. I don't know how we got along without it before. It amazes us every day. Some of the basic jobs we use it for are laser welding sets together, chain repair, retipping prongs and crowns, and the repair of costume jewelry. It was a big investment but what a time saver.

If you do a lot of jewelry design and jewelry repair work, I highly recommend the LaserStar Laser Welding Machine.;
