Laser Applications Laboratory

Laser Applications Lab for Materials Testing

Do You Have a Material You Think Might be Suited for a Laser System?

LaserStar is dedicated to providing you with a comprehensive solution to all of your material processing needs. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to developing laser processes for a wide variety of materials for welding, marking and engraving or cutting solutions. Our Applications Specialists will work with you to understand your unique materials processing needs and then put their years of industry experience to work in developing a customized laser solution. Samples of materials processed in our Applications Lab are then returned to you along with a report describing the recommended system configuration appropriate for your needs.

Laser Application Feasibility/Proof of Concept

LaserStar will offer a one-time complimentary 2-4 hours of applications lab time to test and evaluate the feasibility and/or fitness for the application for the specified technology - laser welding, laser marking, laser cutting. A summary report will be provided. This service does not allow a client to participate during the lab session.

Application Lab Rental

LaserStar will offer potential or existing clients the use of our Applications Lab to test and evaluate the feasibility and/or fitness of a LaserStar machine for the requested application(s). This session will include the participation of a LaserStar Application Specialist. A follow up summary report will be provided. This service does not replace, nor can be interpreted as a Hardware/Software Training, Product Acceptance or Engineering Consultation session. This service will be sold in one day increments.

Application Process Confirmation

LaserStar will require, in conjunction with the client, a clear written definition of the Laser System requirements and process expectation in advance of a LaserStar Estimated Shipment Date being established. Completion of this task may include the cooperation of the client defining and providing prints, models, samples of existing components, samples of existing “benchmark” samples, etc. to LaserStar’s Product Development team. Upon completion, a written acceptance will be required from the client. This service is performed after a firm order is placed with LaserStar Technologies Corporation.

Application Process Development

If required, LaserStar will offer potential or existing clients the use of our Applications Lab to brainstorm, collaborate, evaluate and define a specific application(s) process. At the conclusion of the collaborative effort between both parties, the system hardware and/or software requirements will be determined. This session will include the participation of a LaserStar Applications Specialist and LaserStar Engineering/Product Development staff when necessary.  A follow up summary report will be provided. This service does not replace, nor can be interpreted as a Technical Training, Product Acceptance or Engineering Consultation session.  This service will be sold in one day increments.

Factory Client System Acceptance

The performance criteria for system acceptance, unless otherwise defined by LaserStar, is limited to (1) the review of all hardware and software ordered, (2) demonstration of the system, and (3) a macro overview of the application process to be completed (if selected) at the end-users facility. If no application process is defined, then only items 1 & 2 will apply. This service does not replace, nor can be interpreted as a Technical Training Hardware/Software Session or Engineering Consultation session. This service will be sold in one day increments.

Final Acceptance Tests

If the client specifically requests Final Acceptance Tests be performed prior to the system shipment from the factory, then sample parts are to be provided that are identical to the parts to be used for the machine Post Installation Verification Test. If the application samples and/or client requirements change after the Application Process Confirmation or at the time of Final Acceptance Tests, then this change may result in a revision to the order and additional cost.  Acceptance Tests are performed at LaserStar Technologies Corporation, This service does not replace, nor can be interpreted as a Technical Training, Hardware/Software Session or Engineering Consultation session. This service will be sold in one day increments.

Post Installation Verification Tests

If the client specifically requests a Post Installation Verification Test be performed after the installation at the client facility, then the sample parts used are to be identical to the parts used for the machine Final Acceptance Test. If the Post Installation Verification Test samples and/or client requirements change after the Final Application Test, then this change may result in a revision to the system and additional cost. This service does not replace, nor can be interpreted as a Laser System Hardware Operation Training, Motion Device Hardware/Software Training, or Engineering Consultation session.  This service will be sold in one day increments.
